We specialise in dry curl cutting, frizz free, juicy curls and bespoke curl colour placement and we coach you in how to achieve gorgeous curls consistently at home too!
As Certified Curly and Coily Cutting Specialists (Ranee with 40+ years of curly experience and her team of Qualified and Certified Curly and Coily Cutting Specialists – with similar cutting experience) we know HOW to bring the best out in your curls and show you how easy it is to love them also! We confidently work with all hair types (and colours) from straight to tight textured or afro curl types, all cutting, colouring, blonding, and styling needs.
Every new curl client who books a full Curly Cut & Hydration service (2-2.5 hour service) leaves with their Personal Curl Prescription so they can achieve the same consistent results at home. No other salon we know of offers this Personal Curl Prescription.

If you have curls – you’ve probably never had your curls cut properly
Our Stylists cut each curl individually, dry, at the precise point where the scissors need to be. The difference in results is immediate and continues to improve over time.
WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE?
How is a Curly Cut and Hydration Service different to a normal Cut and Blow Dry?
All clients have a full Consultation prior to their service. A Cut and Blow dry service includes a full consultation, Sensory Shampoo Spa, condition, wet cut, products, style blow dry and finish – with any finishing edits made at the end. This service usually takes between 45 mins and an hour. A Restyle Cut and Blow Dry service usually takes around 90 minutes.
A Curl Friendly Dry Cut and Hydration service takes an average of 2 – 2.5 hours.
The only tools used during the cut are sectioning clips, scissors and the Stylists magic fingers. The hair is cut in the natural curl and fall of the curl.
After the consultation, the hair is sectioned, curls are cut individually, the shape is visible as it builds, then you are escorted to the Sensory Shampoo Spa area and the stylists recommended Curl Friendly products are used to hydrate the hair. We Cleanse, Condition or use a Treatment, giving you the full luxury Sensory Shampoo Spa experience.
Back in front of the mirror, we show you how to apply the styling products and use game changing brushes and clips to show you how to embrace your natural curls. The curls are then fully dried (without frizz) and we take you through your personal Prescription of each product and how to use it in detail – so you can achieve the same results at home – every time. Edits to the cut are made at the end when the fresh curls are in their new happy place. So, that’s the difference.

How to prepare your hair for your Dry Curly Cut and Hydration session:
For the best results, please come to your dry curly cut and hydration appointment with your hair clean, detangled, with product added – such as Gel or Mousse / Foam – and very importantly – DRY. Wet or damp hair becomes frizzy when handled during the service effecting the outcome. If you have any questions, please call the team on 08 8260 4262.

The woman behind Jarnell Cut Colour Curl
Ranee has been hairdressing since 1983. After hundreds of professional development trainings she discovered her own hair had curl after 30+ years in the industry, which told her something important: Hairdressers are not being taught the best way to cut curly hair. She has spent years working to change that across the industry, both in her own salon, through educating her team and peers and as a board member of the SA Hair and Beauty Association (SAHBA).
Every client who sits in Ranee’s chair reaps the benefit of over four decades of experience, ongoing international training, and a genuine commitment to leaving them feeling confident that not only do they have beautiful hair but they are also far better equipped to handle it than when they walked in.
